Aussie Crime Queen: Remembering Kerry Greenwood's Literary Legacy

Kerry Isabelle Greenwood (1954–2025) was an Australian author and lawyer. She won the Australian women's crime fiction Davitt Award in 2002 for her young adult novel *The Three-Pronged Dagger*. Greenwood grew up in Footscray, Melbourne, and lived there most of her life. In 2020, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). Greenwood lived with David Greagg, a mathematician and author whom she referred to as a "wizard". She is known for creating the character Miss Phryne Fisher, a glamorous detective featured in several mystery novels and short story collections.
