Proud Boys Leader Enrique Tarrio Sentenced for January 6th Seditious Conspiracy
Enrique Tarrio, former national chairman of the Proud Boys, was sentenced for seditious conspiracy and other charges related to the January 6th breach of the U.S. Capitol. The Justice Department proved the Proud Boys played a central role in setting up the attack. Tarrio's sentence follows those of three fellow Proud Boys found guilty of sedition, who received prison terms ranging from 15 to 18 years. Prosecutors argued that Tarrio and the Proud Boys planned and executed the attack, while his lawyers denied any plan to attack the Capitol or interfere with Biden's victory. Evidence showed Tarrio commanded members during the attack, urging them to "Do what must be done" and later instructing them to "Do it again."
