Mirra Andreeva: The Rising Star of Women's Tennis

Andreeva began playing tennis at age six. She made her WTA Tour debut in 2022 at the Jasmin Open and reached the second round of the US Open, losing to Coco Gauff. Mirra is the younger sister of fellow professional tennis player Erika Andreeva. She has won three singles titles (Indian Wells, Dubai, Iasi) and two doubles titles (Miami with Shnaider, Brisbane with Shnaider). She also won a silver medal in women's doubles at the Paris Olympics with Diana Shnaider. In 2024, she reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at the French Open, defeating World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals. She also made her Top 20 debut on October 8, 2024, finishing the year at World No. 16. Andreeva opened the 2023 season by winning 13 consecutive matches and claiming back-to-back ITF titles in Switzerland. She reached the Round of 16 at Madrid, defeating notable players like Fernandez, Haddad Maia, and Linette. She also qualified for the Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open tournaments, reaching the third round at French Open and the second round at the US Open. Her performance in 2023 earned her the WTA Newcomer of the Year award.
