Grew up in Traralgon and is one of five children. Was pre-selected as the Liberal Party candidate for Hawthorn after defeating John Roskam of the Institute of Public Affairs. Endorsed as the Liberal candidate for Hawthorn at the 2022 Victorian state election. Became Opposition leader after Matthew Guy's resignation. Announced that the Coalition would withdraw its support for a state-based treaty with Indigenous communities. Prior to entering Parliament, he operated a legal practice and corporate advisory firm. He was also a Senior Fellow at Melbourne University's School of Government and wrote a fortnightly column for The Age.

Victorian Homes and Businesses Face New Emergency Service Levy Starting in 2025

The Victorian Government will replace the Fire Services Property Levy (FSPL) with the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund (ESVF) starting July 1, 2025. The ESVF is a variable charge based on property classification and capital improved value. The land use classification for your property can be found on your rate notice or levy assessment notice. Councils will allow payment in four installments. Currently, the residential fixed charge for FSPL is $132 and the non-residential fixed charge is $267. However, a proposed amendment to the Fire Services Property Levy would significantly increase levies for primary producers by an average of 109%, jumping from $621 to $1,299 per assessment.

Bradman Best is an Indigenous Australian and Welsh rugby league player who currently plays as a center for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL. He was born on the Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia, and is the son of former rugby league player Roger Best.
