UTAS Stadium: A Historic Sporting Venue Undergoes Major Redevelopment

York Park, now known as UTAS Stadium, is a sports ground in Launceston, Australia. It was originally named in honor of the Duke of York (later King George V) and officially opened in 1921. In 1960, Tasmania defeated Victoria at York Park for the first time in football history. The Tasmanian Government is redeveloping UTAS Stadium with a $130 million investment from both the Australian and Tasmanian governments. The project will improve community infrastructure. Ownership of the stadium is transferring from the City of Launceston to Stadiums Tasmania, established in 2023 to manage public stadiums in Tasmania.

NRLW to Share the Spotlight with Men's NRL in Doubleheader Thrills

The National Rugby League Women's competition will feature doubleheaders with the men's NRL matches. On July 6th, the Jillaroos face the Roosters at 12:00 PM local time, followed by a Roosters-Tigers match at 2:00 PM. On July 20th, they play the Knights at 6:15 PM, preceded by a Knights-Warriors match at 4:00 PM. Finally, on August 30th, they take on the Dragons at 3:15 PM, followed by a Dragons-Sea Eagles match at 5:30 PM.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow: Rugby League's Rising Star

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is a rugby league player who started his career as a winger. He played for the North Queensland Cowboys from 2020 to 2022, winning the 2020 NRL Nines tournament and finishing as the equal leading try scorer. In 2023, he joined the Dolphins, scoring the first try in their NRL history. He has also represented Queensland, scoring a hat-trick in their 2023 State of Origin victory over New South Wales. Sharks Stadium Set for Packed Schedule as NRL Announces 2025 Fixtures
