The US conducted Operation Midnight Hammer, a surprise military operation against three Iranian nuclear sites. Seven B-2 bombers and the first known operational use of a 30,000-pound bunker buster bomb were involved. "High-speed suppression weapons" were deployed to allow for a safer approach to Fordo and Natanz. More than 125 US aircraft participated in the mission, including fighter jets, refueling planes, and surveillance aircraft. The operation was not intended to target Iranian troops or the people, but rather to devastate the Iranian nuclear program. President Trump made the final decision to strike on Saturday during a call with Hegseth. While the operation aimed at deterring Iran's nuclear ambitions, President Trump later suggested potential regime change in Iran.
