NRLW to Share the Spotlight with Men's NRL in Doubleheader Thrills

Tony Liberatore is the only player to have won league best-and-fairest medals in all three grades of VFL/AFL football (under 19s, reserves and seniors). He played junior football for Brunswick City. Mick Malthouse, who was Footscray senior coach at the time, invited Liberatore to train but made no guarantees that he would get a game. Liberatore married his wife Jane, a schoolteacher, in 1991.

Tom Liberatore is a key figure in the Western Bulldogs' midfield. At least six people died and dozens are missing after a ferry sank off the coast of Bali. Ferry tragedies are frequent in Indonesia due to lax safety regulations.

North Melbourne faces off against the Bulldogs in round one of the AFL season.

Deandre Ayton has signed a two-year, $16.6 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Ayton spent the previous two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers after playing for the Phoenix Suns. During the 2024-25 season with the Blazers, he averaged 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 56.6% from the field.

Despite facing challenges and being sacked from Carlton Football Club in 2007, Denis Pagan remained dedicated to the North Melbourne club. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is a rugby league player who started his career as a winger. He played for the North Queensland Cowboys from 2020 to 2022, winning the 2020 NRL Nines tournament and finishing as the equal leading try scorer. In 2023, he joined the Dolphins, scoring the first try in their NRL history. He has also represented Queensland, scoring a hat-trick in their 2023 State of Origin victory over New South Wales. In 2025, Tabuai-Fidow scored another hat-trick for the Dolphins against the Penrith Panthers.

Cronulla will host 10 NRL matches at Sharks Stadium in 2025 and a marquee home game in Perth. The 2025 season launches under the lights of Las Vegas. Seven of 10 NRL fixtures at Sharks Stadium are officially sold out for 2024. The NRLW schedule will include an additional two regular-season fixtures in 2025 with the admission of the Bulldogs and Warriors to the competition.

Phil Walsh was an Australian rules footballer and coach. He played wingman for Collingwood in the VFL starting in 1983. He was found dead at his home on July 3, 2015, at the age of 55 from multiple stab wounds. Walsh was born in Hamilton, Victoria, and was one of seven children. In addition to football, he enjoyed cricket, tennis, and basketball.

Michael Walters is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL. Born on January 7, 1991, he returned to a forward position in the 2022 season after spending time in the midfield. He achieved his 200th game milestone during round 23 against GWS, significantly contributing with three goals in Fremantle's victory. Walters was also named as the emergency substitute for Fremantle's round 2 clash against North Melbourne. He is set to participate in the return of the Indigenous All-Stars in February 2025, facing his former team, the Dockers.

The NRL Women's Premiership (NRLW), also known as the Telstra NRL Women's Premiership due to sponsorship, is a rugby league competition in Australasia for female players. In June 2021, the NRL announced expansion of the competition to six teams. All participants in the 2018 season were required to be over the age of 17. The NRL Women's Premiership has handed contracts to 40 elite women players. October 2018 saw the NRL announce the inaugural Rugby League World Cup 9s in Western Sydney on October 18–19, 2019, featuring 12 international men's teams and 4 women's teams.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs was found guilty of two counts of transportation for purposes of prostitution related to two women. The charges stem from accusations of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. He faced five charges total, but was acquitted of the remaining three. The maximum sentence for each count is 10 years.
