The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be the 21st edition and the first to feature 32 clubs from the six continental confederations. Discussions in late 2017 proposed expanding the competition to 24 teams and holding it every four years, replacing the FIFA Confederations Cup. The 51st G7 summit will be held in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada from June 15 to 17, 2025. This marks the second time Kananaskis hosts a G7 summit, following the 28th G8 summit in 2002. Mark Carney will chair the summit, which will be the first for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and U.S. President Donald Trump since the 45th G7 summit in 2019. Canada assumed the G7 presidency on January 1, 2025. The G7's activities extend beyond summits and ministerial meetings, with expert and working groups meeting throughout the year to advance commitments made at high-level meetings.
