A History of Football's Global Club Champion: The Club World Cup

Published on: 6/14/2025

The winner of the Club World Cup receives the FIFA Club World Cup trophy and a FIFA World Champions certificate. The tournament's origins can be traced back to 1951 with Copa Rio, created by the Brazilian FA as a "club version" of the FIFA World Cup. FIFA president René Courte first proposed expanding the Intercontinental Cup into an all-confederations Club World Cup under FIFA auspices in 1967, leading to the establishment of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2000. The current trophy has been in use since 2025, replacing the one used between 2005 and 2023. Like the FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup is sponsored by multinational corporations.

Disney's Live-Action "Snow White" Faces Criticism and Box Office Disappointment

The 2025 live-action film "Snow White" is a reimagining of Disney's 1937 animated classic, itself based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Disney had considered a live-action adaptation for years, even exploring a martial arts version set in China. Casting an actress of Latina descent as Snow White sparked criticism due to the character's traditionally white description in the original story.
