She began her career at the BBC with work experience on "Tomorrow's World" and later as a researcher in current affairs. In 2018, she presented the BBC series "Made in Great Britain." McGovern is also a former champion Irish dancer and continues to be involved in the dance community, coaching dancers at international competitions.
