You must pay the Dart Charge if you use the Dartford Crossing between 6 am and 10 pm, including weekends and bank holidays. Set up a Dart Charge account and add a payment card to it. Payment will automatically be taken when you cross. If you're disabled and get free UK vehicle tax because of a disability, you don't need to pay the charge. Apply for the local resident discount by setting up an account and paying for crossings in advance. You might get fined if you don't pay the Dart Charge on time. The deadline is midnight the day after you cross.

Greece Grapples with Devastating Wildfires Fueled by Extreme Heat

Multiple wildfires started in Greece in July 2023 following a series of heatwaves and wildfires across Europe. Three major fires broke out in Attica on July 17th in Kalyvia, Loutraki, and Dervenochoria. Two more major fires ignited in Magnesia on July 26th, in Almyros and near Velestino. The widespread fires have resulted in smog across much of Greece. A volunteer firefighter died battling a blaze in the Ilia region on the Peloponnese peninsula after being injured. Brutal heat waves have dried out the land, creating favorable conditions for the rapid spread of wildfires.
