Disney will build a theme park resort on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It will be Disney's seventh theme park resort and fully developed by Miral, an immersive destination and experiences company. The project is not part of Disney’s $60 billion investment plan for its theme parks over the next decade. Disney CEO Bob Iger said Abu Dhabi has a rich culture that appreciates arts and creativity. This new park follows Disney's expansion to Japan, France, Hong Kong, and China. Arab leaders have long sought to attract Disney, with Saudi Arabia also previously expressing interest.
