The NOAA moored passive acoustic recorder, located approximately 900 miles from the implosion site, captured the suspected acoustic signature of the Titan submersible implosion on June 18, 2023. The MBI also released ROV footage showing the Titan's tail cone, aft dome, aft ring, hull remnants, and carbon fiber debris on the seafloor. The investigation is ongoing. The University of Washington (UW) stated they had no involvement in the design, engineering, or testing of the Titan submersible. A new movie about the incident titled "Salvaged" is in development, along with another film called "Locker" inspired by the events.
